Styling a Costume--Look Closely

Necklace: hardware store chain $5 with found black cord threaded through; t-shirt: $2.50 Walgreen's; belt: found cable from printer; clock "buckle" from plastic spinning scene lamp: $2; earrings: see above: $1.20; purse: found; bauble on purse: same source as clock buckle: .$50; jacket: hand-me-down (but still has high-end designer tag): free; leggings: Ross $23; pumps: Ross, $18.

Upon closer inspection, we see that the "earrings" are made of a lump of plaster covered with real gold leaf, a wire, an "s" hook from the hardware store, and a plastic circle mirror from a crafts store. Cost: plaster-free (found a bag of it) + gold leaf about $.30 + wire-free (found it) + "S" hook $.40 + mirror circle $.50 = $1.20
